Screaming Trees were an influential part of the Seattle grunge scene where bands like Pearl Jam Alice in Chains and Nirvana began their careers. Screaming Trees is known as one of the pioneers of grunge along with the Melvins Mudhoney U-Men Skin Yard Soundgarden Green River and Malfunkshun.
